It's go time!

Nana's here to watch the other kids and have fun along the way:

And I'm certainly ready to go have a baby!
After a fun stay in Bismarck with the kids and my parents, and a very short night of sleep, we're off to the hospital at 4:30 am! Here we go! Checking in. Time to meet baby!!!!

Isaac's Baby Blessing

When we went home for Thanksgiving we had Isaac's baby blessing. In our church, we don't consider this blessing to be a saving ordinance; meaning it, unlike baptism isn't necessary for salvation. We don't believe babies need to be baptized yet because they can't sin nor could they decide for themselves that they want to be baptized. But they get to have a special blessing that officially puts their names in the records of the church and sometimes gives us insight into their little personalities as the priesthood holder giving the blessing (in this case, Isaac's daddy) follows the inspiration of the Spirit in what to say and bless our little baby with. So it's a very special time especially for parents and it just makes me excited to see what an amazing little man our handsome baby will become! Here's the only picture we got of him in his outfit, and a couple of decent family pics from later in the day:
We're so glad that Isaac is part of our family!!!

We love our little Sleepy-head

We have been SO blessed! Our little guy is such a great sleeper. Naturally, he prefers to sleep all day and have his too-cute-to-ignore-wide-awake times during the middle of the night, but he is only 2 weeks old so we'll forgive him for now. Anyway, he started out loving to sleep like this:
But now he hates it. He gets SO mad when we try to wrap him. Instead he wants to sleep stretched out like this:

And here, he has "assumed the position." When Coop was about 9 he noticed that after eating, his dad would always lean back in his chair, drape one arm over the next chair and sigh big - stretching out a full tummy. Since then it's been an inside joke. And here's our little man doing it already ... he has "assumed the position." And he's milk drunk. That's fun too.

Drum roll please ...

So I know we weren't going to find out, and I really didn't want to find out because I look forward to the surprise and think it's fun and maybe I'm just a little crazy and enjoy people looking at me like I have a screw loose for 9 months (which people do anyway cause I'm pregnant with my 3rd and who does that anymore?), but since we're moving (more on that in a bit) I kinda needed to know if the baby girl clothes should go in permanent storage or remain accessible. That was a long sentence. Let me take a breath. Okay, so we had the ultrasound today, with a new game plan and recommence the drum roll please ... IT'S A BOY!! It was totally obvious, but even then because of the packing incentive, I asked the lady if she could 100% guarantee that because you know, it's happened before to people I know that they were wrong, and she looked at me like I was daft and pointed out the specific boy parts which were hardly being shy. So away into storage goes all bows and everything pink! It's a boy!!
P.S. I'll post later about the move.
