A day for the books

You'd be amazed what a problem a little thing like this sequin star could be:Especially when swallowed by a rather small human being. It's sharp, pointy edges are perfect for getting stuck in say, an esophagus, requiring surgical removal after spending all day in an ER getting poked, prodded, x-rayed, and poked, prodded, and x-rayed some more. Rough day. They had to put my baby under. And stick breathing tubes down his throat. This may have been harder on mom than on him. Kinda tough to say though as he still doesn't say much. That's partially because he doesn't know how and partially because he still has a sad little raspy, hoarse voice. Fortunately though, he doesn't look much worse for the wear (this was about 15 hours after surgery:
I told him that next time he wants attention to try something a little less dramatic like laughing. Next time he wants to distract us from our problems to learn a new trick like saying mama. Next time he wants to remind us of what's really important in life, to give us a kiss. That'll do just fine.

That is like one of the cutest pictures of him! Why does he look so cute after being such a little bother!?

I swear it is a boy thing. A girl would never think of putting their mother through such a day but the boys just want to see what it would be like to swallow something that they shouldn't. I don't care how small they are they just come that way!!!

So glad he is alright....so sorry you had to go through that.
